Hey, I’m Sidra Munir Khan — and this is my freelancing journey as a WordPress and Flutter Developer—with 4+ years of freelancing experience. But I wasn’t always this confident.I’m sharing my freelancing journey to inspire others starting from scratch. There was a time when I had no idea where to begin, no mentor, and no support system. I started right after matriculation, with nothing but curiosity, a dream, and dua (prayers).
This blog is a piece of my heart a real, raw story of how I went from zero guidance to building a career in tech, how I survived 8 months without a single order, how I stayed up nights learning, and how I came back stronger after burnout.
If you’re just starting or feeling stuck — I hope my story gives you the courage to keep going.
I started freelancing when I was just a student — right after matric, with zero direction and absolutely no one to guide me. Like many others, I had questions like:
Where do I start?
How can I earn online?
Is it even possible without a degree or experience?
But every time I reached out to people for help — I got silence.
No one replied. No one guided me.
I still remember sending random messages to freelancers and creators, hoping someone would just point me in the right direction.
But no one did.
That’s when I made a promise to myself
“If no one’s going to help me, I’ll figure it out on my own.”
I started researching everything: freelancing platforms, skills, how to build a profile, what services to offer, and how to even talk to a client.
And while doing that…
I prayed. A lot. 💫
After 8 months of learning, failing, trying, crying, and praying — I finally got my first order on Fiverr.
It was a WordPress project.
The price? Just PKR 8,000
But to me, it felt like 8 million.
Not because of the amount — but because I earned it with my own skill and effort.
Even while I continued my college studies, I didn’t stop.
I used to stay up all night learning WordPress and Flutter, replying to clients, and fixing bugs.
There were times when I:
Bit by bit, I started achieving small goals.
And those small wins kept me alive.
After working for a few years, I hit burnout.
Mentally and emotionally drained, I took a break.
No orders, no clients — just me, and doubt.
But something inside me kept whispering:
“This isn’t the end. You didn’t come this far to stop now.”
I took some time to recover, reset, and rebuild.
And guess what?
I’m back.
Stronger.
Wiser.
And more ready than ever to grow.
There’s one lesson I’ve learned more than anything else:
“If you really want to do something big — disappear. Stop explaining. Stop seeking approval. Just focus. Build. Pray. Repeat.”
Because your work will speak louder than your words.
And when it does… no one can ignore it.
If you’re starting and feel lost — I get it.
I’ve been there.
And I promise you — if you stay consistent, honest, and faithful — you will get there.
Just start. Even if it’s messy. Even if you’re scared.
Your future self is waiting on the other side of your courage.
